Age spots are these brown dark spots we start seeing on our face and different parts of our body that has had long exposure to the sun. As we get older, our body sometimes loose the ability to fight off the sun's harmful rays, causing our skin to darken and create spots. We all put sunscreen when going to the beach, getting a tan, and sometimes just relaxing or running errands on hot summer days. Nonetheless, as we grow older, our skin's ability to battle UV rays starts to decrease and we begin to see the visible growth of age spots.
While most of the time, the age spot (which is also referred to as sun spot) is not cancerous or harmful, people want to get rid of them as soon as possible. Getting rid of age spots on face and other part of the body is also good for people's morale and confidence, especially in women. Most of the time, I hear women saying that their confidence level has dropped significantly after getting a few age spots on face or after a fairly prominent age spot has started showing up. They sometimes feel uncomfortable wearing summer clothes and wearing beach wear because of these age spots.
