A spot is caused by the blockage of the sebaceous gland which is a gland near the surface of the skin. An oily substance called sebum which is used to lubricate the hair follicles is secreted by these glands. Blockages can often occur in these glands due to the presence of excess sebum which can then mix with dead skin cells at the opening of the gland resulting in the appearance of a blackhead on the skin. The area can then become red and swollen if bacteria on the surface of the skin enters the blocked gland and thus this will result in whiteheads. So in order to keep them away and maintain a fresh, clean, spot free face it is essential that you introduce a cleansing routine to your everyday life. It is important that you wash your face and body at least once a day however usually most people like to wash their faces twice a day both in the morning and at night.
Some people classify spots as a few breakouts and so they consider this less serious than acne which is more widespread and can be found on the face, back and chest. Acne can effect both males and females of all age groups however it is most common in teens that are just starting puberty. It can create many issues for people especially these young adults as it can leave them feeling inadequate compared to their peers who may have perfect and glowing skin. They can then become insecure of their looks and lose confidence which can affect other aspects of their lives. So, in order to treat acne you must take care of you skin and once this is achieved and once acne clears up these young teenagers can regain their confidence and can feel good about themselves again.
