Ringworm in Humans Causes Skin Problem

Ringworm in humans (Tinea) is a nagging problem of the human skin and is obviously a fungal infection that settles on the skin surface. In the earlier days there was a belief in humans that the disease was caused by a specific worm. But later on thorough searches have thrown light on the problem and declare that the skin problem is caused due to the infestation of fungus. But the name remained the same following the old tradition.

The moment you are infected with the fungal infection round spots appear on the surface of the skin but you have to keep in mind that all red spots are not ring worms. To come to the conclusion you may have to go through proper skin test and necessary evaluations. If proper treatment is followed the problem vanishes. But perfect diagnosis is a must to come to the point.

When the Tinea infection is diagnosed the doctor names it accordingly. If the fungus is found on the scalp the doctors refer it as Tinea capitis, Tinea pedis means infection of the feet. Ringworm in humans is commonly noticed among all types of human whether black or white. Tinea never spares anyone. But the children are generally affected with it as they come in contact easily with many things. Tinea is highly contagious and may pass through contact vide clothes, brushes, combs and even from the swimming pool or even locker room.

In our beautiful world there are many types of virus, bacteria or fungus. The fungus responsible for Tinea generally live in soil but some may invade the skin. All the fungi that affect the human skin are of same origin. There are obviously varieties. The fungi pass from human to human, animal to human or from soil to human. The common symptom of the ringworms in humans is constant itching on the affected part. The ore the affected human itches the more the infection spreads. There may be secondary infection in due course if the affected person takes little care of the infection.

Ringworm in humans can be treated well. Topical ointment or gel can be used safely. In resistant cases the oral antifungal medications are generally prescribed. Proper health care and keep the home and pet free from fungi are the ideal mode of treatment. Many types of medicines apart from the conventional ones are available in the market. But it is not wise to use them without proper indication.
