Having a sagging neck is nobody's idea of a good thing. Most of us would agree that it looks rather unsightly, not to mention the fact that it can really make you look older than you actually are. A lot of people are so self-conscious about their neck area that they will try to hide the flabby and loose skin with high necklines and scarves. Many women, and men too, will undergo cosmetic surgery to remedy the problem but it is not necessary to resort to this extreme. Most of us know that cosmetic surgery does not come cheap and there is often an extensive recuperation period.
Sagging of the skin, whether around the neck area, jowls, eyes, etc. is always the result of a reduction in collagen and elastin levels. As we age we produce less of both and this results in the skin being less firm and supple and therefore prone to wrinkling and sagging. Furthermore, other aging signs are also more likely to appear, such as age spots (which really have nothing to do with your age at all), dullness, lines, etc.
To have a healthy, firm skin you need sufficient collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic levels. Hyaluronic acid is what holds the collagen and elastin in the body. If there is a deficiency of this acid sagging skin and wrinkles will appear. To combat sagging skin in the neck area, and elsewhere, you need a firming cream or an anti-wrinkle cream. As simple as that may sound it is nonetheless true that you can do something about a sagging neck area and other problems, simply by choosing the right anti-aging cream.
